The third newsletter already
In this monthly newsletter, we will update you on recent developments and inform you about our plans for the upcoming period.
Price increases
Let's start with the less pleasant news, and then it will get progressively better. Despite sharply increased purchasing costs, we have been able to keep our prices stable for a year, contrary to market trends. As of May 1st, we will implement a small price increase on a number of products. We aim to remain a healthy and sustainable company in the years to come, which also benefits our customers.
Now also Organic Extra Virgin
We have good news for lovers of organic products. The Antica Tuscia series from Frantoio Battaglini is now available in our online store. This series consists of products grown and produced entirely according to European requirements for organic farming.
Extra Virgin Di Bolsena and its herb-infused variants are also produced sustainably with great care and respect for nature. However, there are no controls on the methods used, so they cannot carry the "organic" label. From cultivation, the manual harvesting, pressing, filtering, and bottling processes are completely identical for all products. Between pressings of different series, all equipment is thoroughly cleaned to prevent any mixing and ensure the purity of the organic series.
At present, the rules and laws for organic farming are not yet mandatory, but the Battaglini family is convinced that investments must be made now to continue enjoying nature and its products, such as delicious extra virgin olive oil, in the future. The investments in more sustainable production are reflected in a small price difference between Antica Tuscia organic extra virgin and Di Bolsena extra virgin.
More sustainable packaging
It was actually a customer who got us thinking about packaging. The 1-liter and 5-liter tins have been part of our product range from the beginning. What do you do if you want to order 3 liters? The obvious choice is to order 3 x 1-liter tins. This also means 3 tins for recycling after use and 3 tins for cost calculation during packaging. This can be done much more sustainably by offering a 3-liter tin, which we now do for both Di Bolsena and Antica Tuscia. This way, we contribute even more to sustainable packaging and recycling.
Participation in international competition
We mentioned this in our previous newsletter. Little has changed, but we want to keep you updated because it's so exciting. This month, we will officially submit the samples, and we will have to wait for the experts to evaluate them. Of course, we hope to achieve a high ranking, and you'll hear from us as soon as we know more.
Another restaurant joins
Our customers, of course, also regularly visit their favorite restaurants. It's exciting to discover that every month, new establishments and chefs are working with our delicious products. Last month, the owner of restaurant De Illusie in 's-Hertogenbosch agreed to join us. We are, of course, delighted about this and hope that our customers will find their way to this wonderful hospitality establishment. We wish the visitors and the owner a tasteful experience.
We are in discussions with a large and renowned fish specialty store about using our organic extra virgin olive oil. The owner will conduct several thorough tests to assess the quality and usability of our olive oil. This is incredibly exciting, and we are secretly hoping for a positive outcome and another new, pleasant collaboration.
Ongoing developments
We are continuously working on improvements to our offerings and how we present them to our customers. That's why we've made minor adjustments to the menu structure in the online store, so you can find the right information even faster and make the smartest choices. Furthermore, we occasionally upload new product photos that are of better quality or contain more information for our visitors.
The quality, visibility, and reliability of our store are partly determined by the reviews we receive from our customers and visitors. We encourage everyone who is satisfied to let us know, for example, via Trustpilot and Google. Please also let us know if you are less satisfied or see opportunities for improvement. We are eager to learn from everyone and every honest input.
Finally
We invite you to contribute to our newsletters and publications with your own ideas, recipes, and comments via the contact button in the menu or under the blogs.
The team from Battaglini Nederland wishes you a healthy, pleasant, and successful time!
